Under the scheme of compassionate appointment to the dependents of deceased Government employees, the spouse / son / daughter may be considered for compassionate appointment to the post of Junior Assistant or to a post of whose scale of pay is equivalent to Junior Assistant or to a post below the Junior Assistant category. In the A.P. Secretariat Subordinate Service Rules, the post of Typist-cum-Assistant belongs to category VIII in class B under Rule 2 of the said rules. This is the category above the posts of Attender/ Record Assistant the post of Typist-cum-Assistant is the first clerical line of post to that of Junior Assistant in the Head of departments / in the District Offices. The Scale of pay of Junior Assistant in A.P. Ministerial Service is Rs.3290-6550, the scale of pay of Typist-cum-Assistant is Rs.3750-7650. This scale of pay is higher to that of Junior Assistant, in view of the higher scale of pay to the post of Typist-cum-Assistant in Secretariat Subordinate Service, the compassionate appointments to the post of Typist-cum-Assistant are not considered to the dependents of deceased employees in the various Departments of Secretariat. They are being considered for the posts in A.P. Last Grade Service, namely, Attenders etc. In the reference 2nd read above, the A.P. Secretariat Employees Association requested to consider compassionate appointments to the post of Typist-cum-Assistant to the dependents of deceased employees in the various Departments of Secretariat, as there is no post of Junior Assistant or Typist in the A.P. Secretariat Subordinate Service.
Government after careful consideration of the matter, issue the following Amendment adding a sub-para in item 3 under para 2 in G.O.Ms.No.687 GA (Ser.A) Department dated 03. I 0.1977.
AMENDMENT
"For the dependents of the deceased employees in the various Departments of Secretariat, the compassionate appointments shall be considered to the post of Typist-cum-Assistant in the A.P., Secretariat Subordinate Service or to a post below the category of Typist-cum-Assistant".
